As elected bodies local councils have responsibilities for the people they represent. They can play a vital part in representing the interests of the communities they serve and improving the quality of life and the local environment. Furthermore they influence other decision makers and can in many cases deliver services to meet local needs. The booklet below is for anyone wanting to know more about their parish or town council, the role of local councillors and what you need to do if you would like to stand as a candidate in local council elections.
If you would like to contact your local council you can find their details in the links below.
