The coronavirus pandemic has emphasised the importance of the work of our local councils, community groups and organisations. SALC Executive in November approved a proposal put forward by Cllr David Beechey that SALC undertake a survey to record the work that has taken place to support its members to look to, and prepare for, the future. We have been working with Shropshire Council’s Feedback and Insight Team to prepare some key questions for local research. The survey is designed for town and parish councils across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. We hope to use the survey to learn more about:

• How local communities have responded to the coronavirus pandemic
• Any concerns or issues you would like to highlight
• Organisational support needs
• How local partnerships are benefiting local people
• Examples of good practice and case studies
• Ideas, suggestions and opportunities for the future

We hope the results will provide a baseline for future research. A similar survey will be made available for local community groups and we encourage you to share this within your community. The links to both surveys are here and will also be published on our website.
